Growing Root Ginger From Store-Bought Ginger Root

In this video we start growing root ginger from a piece of ginger root we bought at the local farm shop. It started sprouting, so we thought we’d give it a go. Growing ginger is really easy as you can grow it indoors in the UK or. a warm place such as a greenhouse during warmer months.

It thrives in nutrient-rich, moist soil so we used a good quality peat-free organic compost. It will need plenty of sunshine, so we’ve placed it in a warm room near a window. It should be ready to harvest in about 6 months, so not too long to wait. If you’re thinking you can’t grow ginger, think again. Watch this, and why not give it a go?!
