Our garden sits on clay soil, so it gets very wet in winter with pooling water, and very dry in Summer. Part of the lawn is very patchy as a result of the conditions, so we’ve decided to sow specialist wildflower seeds to grow a wildflower garden there.
We sourced our seeds from https://meadowmania.co.uk who provide special mixes of seeds for different soil types. We used them before at our previous house which was a chalk soil, and that mix of seeds grew well. We’ve purchased a clay-soil special mix for this house.
Please note, we have not been provided seeds by Meadowmania, we purchased these as they are our supplier of choice. This is a recommendation based upon experience.
