We look at how to reduce waste on holiday in Thailand. It’s a country where it’s easy to get some delicious, affordable food from street sellers and markets. But this way of shopping for food means that for ease sellers package many items in plastic bags, so a single trip for dinner can result in many plastic bags being used. It’s also widespread in markets, where for convenience vendors pre-package many items in plastic bags. For this holiday trip Mrs G3 and I wanted to see if we could eliminate our plastic bag use by using reusable food containers and drinks cups. The food containers are lightweight and collapsable, meaning they’re easy to store and take with you. We also took sets of bamboo cutlery so we didn’t need throwaway plastic cutlery either.
